Fabulous exam results and rehearsing for Altrincham Festival
Well Done to everyone who took a Disco/Freestyle dance exam in the March session, once again we had a 100% pass rate!!!!!!
We think you can tell from the pictures how pleased the children are with their results,
The children have once again been asked to perform in the arena at the annual Altrincham Festival, on Saturday 7th July 2012, at Beech Avenue Recreation Ground in Timperley, so they are all busy rehearsing new dance routines to show you!
The children in the Sunday beginner’s class have helped with choosing the steps for their dance routine, and are very excited and cannot wait to show you the results of their hard work.
We want to keep them all busy and “on their toes” so we are also rehearsing for our Summer Spectacular Show which will take place on Saturday 21st July at Timperley Methodist Church.
Gosh we are tired out just thinking about it!
The children are getting really involved and have chosen new T-shirts, and decided what colours they want and how they would like the JanNik Dance logo printed onto them.
Some children have helped out with choreography, and have some wonderful steps and ideas!
So this is going to be a really busy term for us all and the children will be working really hard to remember all the steps from the different dance routines.
We also have a performance by our Elite Dance group coming up on Saturday 19th May in Altrincham (approx 2.00pm) where they will be joined by some of the children form our Saturday morning class at a fund raising event for Cancer Research, so if you are free please come and support us!

We wish you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY & HEALTHY NEW YEAR!
New Term & Diary Dates!
Well it’s another school year and we are pleased to have welcomed you all back to JanNik Dance.
Last year finished in a flurry of activity with the Altrincham Festival performances from all the children in our Disco/Freestyle dance classes, and the RNCM show in which a number of our Children performed not only Disco/Freestyle but also Latin American Jive!
So what have we got this term?
Well, the biggest challenge for the children will be the NATD examination session on Saturday19th November at our base, Altrincham Methodist Church.
Many children from our dance classes have chosen to enter for the Len Goodman Annual Award 2011 which is a lovely silver cup awarded at the highest exam level the child currently holds. I must say they look lovely and we are a bit disappointed we can’t get one ourselves!
Other children form the classes have chosen to continue with their formal exams and take their next level.
Whatever exam the children have chosen we wish the all “Good Luck”.
We have decided on a change for this year, usually we have a show at Christmas and the children from all the dance classes perform for their parents.
It is TREMENDOUS fun and the children all get to meet each other, there’s usually quite a “party” atmosphere in the dressing rooms!
This year we have decided to try a change and organise a Disco for the children on Saturday 17th December 2011.(more details to follow)
Again this will give ALL the Children from ALL the different dance classes the chance to meet each other.
Don’t panic parents! We will be having a show but nearer to Easter 2012, so you will still get the opportunity to see the results of your children’s hard work and see how much they enjoy themselves.
Don’t forget you can let us know your views by posting on this website.
RNCM Summer Show!!!!!
Finally here are some pictures from the recent Dance show some of the girls took part in during July.
This was a really big commitment for the girls and their parents as rehearsals started way back in September 2010!
We entered 2 numbers , a Latin American Jive, danced to a mix by Jive Bunny, and a 3 minute long disco/freestyle number performed to Cheryl Cole’s “Promise This”.
There were 6 shows over 5 days, not to mention a day long technical rehearsal on the Sunday prior to the run and a full dress rehearsal on the Monday night, but it was a good excuse to stay up late on a school night!
During the classes we had a bonding session – well actually it was an excuse for a coffee and a cake! The girls all went out to a coffee shop in Altrincham, and it certainly looks as though they enjoyed themselves!
The routines dance routines had to be performed in a professional theatre in front of an audience so were quite difficult , but the girls worked really hard at their dance classes and practised their dances at home, and we are sure you’ll agree if you were fortunate enough to see the show it was worth it!
They also had really lovely costumes to wear, here is the disco/freestyle
and the Latin American Jive,
You all deserve a big “Well Done”!!!!!!!
